Purpose: I'll guide you to check if you've won the lottery.
From May 3rd, you can see if you won the lottery.
Start by finding your 'Confirmation Number' that you saved when submitting the application back in October. It starts with 2026... followed by about 12 numbers and letters. Don't worry if you don't have it anymore, I'll show you how to retrieve it. This is the confirmation number:

Go to this website Entrant Status Check and proceed to check the status. Fill in the Confirmation Number, Last/Family Name, and Year of Birth. For me the Authentication code always cause some issues, so feel free to try a few times. If you forgot your Confirmation number, then you can recover it here (see the red box in the third screen below):

This is the only place, where you can see if you won. If you get an email or anything else from random people, then assume it is fake.
This blog will continue for those who won the lottery. If you won, then please continue using the help on this blog. If you didn't win, then I understand your frustration and feelings. I lost 2 times before eventually winning. It can be frustrating to not win, and I hope you have someone to talk with about it. I wish you well.

I won - what now?: In the next posts, I'll cover everything you need to secure your green card and move to the U.S.:
- understand your case number
- fill out the DS-260,
- prepare for the consulate,
- move to the U.S.,
- get the actual, permanent green card
- How to get a social security number, bank account, credit cards, credit score, health insurance, drivers license, ID and many, many more details to make your life easier.
This information will save you a lot of time and money!
The hard work starts now. I've created this blog to guide you through the next steps. It is a lot of work, and many people fail to complete the next steps to actually obtain the green card. But I am here to help you. You will need to be structured, and keep track of what tasks you've completed and what tasks you still need to do.
Subscribe: I won the green card and moved to the U.S. myself. I made a lot of learnings that you can benefit from.
